When Lex takes charge of an event or project, you trust it to be executed in her signature style: with empathy, expert communication, and every detail accounted for. Working with Alexsis at Resy was an absolute pleasure. She was a really awesome Office Coordinator and I was heartbroken when I found out she was moving forward because of the loss, but happy when I heard she was continuing to pave her way forward in the non-profit space. When it comes to Alexsis, my mind goes to the quote from Futurama when Bender meets God. “When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.” I have no doubt there is a long list of things she handled that I’m completely unaware of due to how seamless it appeared.
One of the highlights of the experience was her organization of the ScriptEd field trip to the Resy Office. ScriptEd is a non-profit organization that aims to equip students from under-resourced high schools with programming skills and experiences that can enable a future in technology that may not otherwise be possible. This was unprecedented for Resy, and it can’t be understated how pivotal Alexsis was to the success of the event. My boss had the desire to coordinate with ScriptEd for a long time, but it didn’t work out primarily due to lack of time and busy schedules.
Alexsis organized many meetings to prepare for the high school students that were to come visit and learn about the technology field. The lunch that was catered for the students was entirely handled by Alexsis as well as the logistics and timing of events and activities. On the day of the field trip the class arrived late due to transit issues, and Alexsis kept a level head to adjust the scheduled activities on the fly. Everyone had a fantastic time and Resy happily received some extremely nice feedback from the ScriptEd coordinators and students about the field trip being one of the best and most engaging they’ve experienced.
Resy lost such a great person in Alexsis; it’s difficult to fully describe her value without a resulting novella. But our loss is a net gain for the world as she continues to move forward in her career and widen her focus on her true passion of giving back and non-profit work. I think having the fortune of meeting and working with Alexsis has aided me as a professional and human being, and I know she will continue to spread order and positivity wherever she goes.

I had the pleasure of working in an office where Alexsis was the office manager. She's communicative and organized. She always responded to requests and inquiries promptly. And she just generally gave us all the impression of always being on top of things. Which is exactly what you want in that role.
Alexsis and I also have a shared passion for diversity and outreach programs. I had been working on putting together a field trip with students in the ScriptEd program for a year. But we're a startup. Everyone's busy. Schedules never aligned. Soon after Alexsis started she learned that this was something I was pursuing and offered to work together on it. She handled all the scheduling, coordinated with the ScriptEd team, pulled everyone on our side together, kept us on track, and made all the accommodations to bring the kids into the office. She made it happen. The trip was a great success. This was a great experience for everyone involved and it wouldn't have happened without Alexsis's involvement. Alexsis Bass is a motivated, energetic and diligent worker. She has a sense of urgency and acts with speed. While at Resy, with only two hands, she had:
- A hand in setting-up new laptops for new employees,
- A hand in running the office from facilities to making sure the snack bar was fully stocked with company preferences,
- A hand in helping planning company events,
- A hand in being the person people went to when there were no clear answers (ex: Alexsis, the wifi is down. Alexsis, it’s cold. Alexsis, the sky is falling).

In all of those cases, whether it was a part of her job description or not, she went above and beyond to drive the task at hand to a satisfactory completion.
One of her biggest accomplishments I noticed was putting together a half-day program for underrepresented youths in the ScriptEd program. She led regular meetings to organize a diverse group of senior engineers to plan a panel, and invent educational games around software development for the youths. The event was an overwhelming success for the ScriptEd program and for Resy. All parties involved were impressed and recognized her for it.

Initially Alexsis came to Songkick as a part-time Receptionist. Since Alexsis didn't have an office management or startup background, we thought the learning curve might be high. This wasn't the case with Alexsis. She came in, hit the ground running and quickly moved into the full-time Office Coordinator role.
